![]() ![]() What you can do though is go to home depot and take the original with you. My 06' had metal screws that held them on. Silicone, teflon tape, a larger diameter wood screw (would it make matters worse)? Any answers as to what I can do in order to fix the loose screw would be great. The screws that ford uses seem to be non-standard for license plates, they are just wood type screws. ![]() I am afraid that when I change the rear plate I will also find a stripped threading. The weathertech frame comes with a host of stainless steel screws which are nice, but all are very short and none resemble the original screws. On one side (although I made it work) the threading tube that receives this wood type screw appears to be stripped and just turns (does not tighten down). The screws that are used appear to be wood screws, about 1.75 inches long. After deciding that I won't advertise for the dealer any longer I replaced the front (and soon rear) dealer provided license plate frame to a black abs frame from weathertech.
